The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 28 | Sarah Shook

Sarah Shook swills The Marinade. Sarah is a singer, songwriter, and the band leader of Sarah Shook and the Disarmers. What immediately stands out about Sarah the person is the warmth of her spirit and the quickness of her mind. She is present in every moment and that comes through on record as well. The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 27 | Erika Wennerstrom

Erika Wennerstrom dips into The Marinade. Erika's album "Sweet Unknown" was our favorite in a crowded 2018 field. After her band Heartless Bastards went on hiatus in 2015, Erika set out to find her next creative outlet. The result is a brilliant solo effort.

Erika sits down with us backstage at The Plaza Live in Orlando, FL, before her show with Lucinda Williams and Drive-by Truckers. We talk about her experience with ayahuasca, how hiking in Big Bend opened the creative spigot and even enjoy a silent cameo from Patterson Hood of Drive-by Truckers.

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 24 | 2018 in Review Part II | Luke Wagner talks Austin Lucas

Luke Wagner and I belly up at Barley and Vine Biergarten in Orlando, FL, to record the second of our 2018 in Review series. To end an outstanding year of music, we invited several artists whose work we respect to talk about some of 2018's highlights. Luke and I discuss "Immortal Americans" by Austin Lucas (Episode 21) then Luke plays one of his own tunes.

Check out Luke's music at lukewagnermusic.com. Cheers, y'all.

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 22 | Chuck Ragan

Chuck Ragan is a mensch. Punk legend. Folk genius. Fishing guide. Author. Purveyor of hot sauce. Ragan is the stuff of legend. We caught up at the Sing Out Loud Festival in St. Augustine Amphitheatre right after Chuck poured his heart out to an eager crowd. After seemingly leaving it all on stage, Chuck still gave us a solid half hour of insight into his creative process.

Check out the Spotify playlist that accompanies this episode featuring music from Chuck and some things I've been getting down on recently, including the excellent solo record from Heartless Bastards frontwoman Erika Wennerstrom.

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 21 | Austin Lucas

Austin Lucas slips his toes into The Marinade and we quickly end up drowning in heavy questions about process and existence. Austin made one of our favorite records of the year in 'Immortal Americans.' To catch up with Austin was an honor. Check out his brilliant record and find him on tour when he gets near your town.

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 20 | Sadler Vaden

Sadler Vaden teleports into The Marinade! Sadler is probably best known for his work playing guitar in Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, but he was also in Drivin' N Cryin' and has created some fantastic solo music. We discuss what he has learned from his famous bandmates, how he approaches the solo process, and just when the hell Oasis is going to finally reunite. Sadler is a massive guitar player, an impressive songwriter, and a supremely nice individual. Cheers, y'all.
