The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 35 | C.H. Hooks

COVER_Alligator Zoo-Park Magic_Hooks.jpg

C.H. Hooks sinks into the blackwater of The Marinade! Hooks wrote my favorite book of 2019 thus far. The novel is called Alligator Zoo Park Magic. Hooks spins a mystical, hilarious, and heartbreaking story set in small-town, rural Florida. Check out this conversation then pick up a copy of the book.

The music in this episode is from Kyle Keller. You can find his tunes at kylekellermusic.bandcamp.com.

C.H. Hooks's Alligator Zoo Park Magic is available wherever you buy books and at chhooks.com.

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 29 | Rockin' Robinson Series Part I | Andrew Yeomanson and The Savants of Soul

Jason catches up with several artists while serving as emcee of the Rockin' Robinson festival in Orlando's Milk District. Andrew Yeomanson (aka DJ Le Spam) stops by The Marinade tent to talk about recording and performing with Spam AllStars, the universality of Johnny Cash, and what makes Miami special. Plus, Gainesville, Florida's Savants of Soul stop by after their set to talk creative process and break some big news! This is Part I of a two-part special Rockin' Robinson series.

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 27 | Erika Wennerstrom

Erika Wennerstrom dips into The Marinade. Erika's album "Sweet Unknown" was our favorite in a crowded 2018 field. After her band Heartless Bastards went on hiatus in 2015, Erika set out to find her next creative outlet. The result is a brilliant solo effort.

Erika sits down with us backstage at The Plaza Live in Orlando, FL, before her show with Lucinda Williams and Drive-by Truckers. We talk about her experience with ayahuasca, how hiking in Big Bend opened the creative spigot and even enjoy a silent cameo from Patterson Hood of Drive-by Truckers.

You can buy Erika's excellent record and keep up with all things Erika Wennerstrom at erikawennerstrom.com

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 22 | Chuck Ragan

Chuck Ragan is a mensch. Punk legend. Folk genius. Fishing guide. Author. Purveyor of hot sauce. Ragan is the stuff of legend. We caught up at the Sing Out Loud Festival in St. Augustine Amphitheatre right after Chuck poured his heart out to an eager crowd. After seemingly leaving it all on stage, Chuck still gave us a solid half hour of insight into his creative process.

Check out the Spotify playlist that accompanies this episode featuring music from Chuck and some things I've been getting down on recently, including the excellent solo record from Heartless Bastards frontwoman Erika Wennerstrom.

The Marinade with Jason Earle Episode 14 | Matt Burke

Matt Burke skis into The Marinade! Matt is the frontman and principal songwriter for the band Have Gun, Will Travel. We have been a fan of Have Gun, Will travel for years so this is a special honor. Matt and I discuss our mutual love for Micah Schnabel, how anxiety has threatened to derail us, the creative process behind Have Gun Will Travel's excellent record Science From an Easy Chair, and so much more.

Check out hgwtmusic.com for tour dates and merch and look for a new Have Gun, Will Travel record coming very soon.
